Dr. Hamilton is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and, after serving six years in the U. S. Army, attended the veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and began a three-year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania the following year. Upon completion of his residency he worked at a referral practice in Richmond, Virginia for almost 7 years. Dr. Hamilton became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2015.
Dr. Hamilton's professional interests include minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy/thoracoscopy), fracture repair, wound management, and oncologic surgery. When not working Dr. Hamilton enjoys cycling, kayaking, running and spending time with his wife Alison and their dogs hiking around the coast of Maine.
