Dr. Hess, a native of rural New York, originally came to New England to study undergraduate biology at Northeastern University. In 2006 she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University after spending her clinical year at Cornell University. Following graduation she returned to Massachusetts to complete a small animal rotating internship at the New England Animal Medical Center. During that year she developed a strong passion for emergency and critical care medicine and remained on staff for the next 8 years. In 2014 she relocated to New Hampshire and finally to Maine. Her professional interests include neonatal and pediatric care, wound management, and trauma. During her free time she enjoys running, playing softball, hiking, cooking, and international travel. She shares her home with her dog, Lunchbox, and her cat, Jolene.
