PET LOSS SERVICES
Grief isn't limited to the time a beloved pet dies...
It can be felt long before and after death. Maine Veterinary Medical Center offers monthly Pet Loss Support Group Meetings to support families with end-of-life decisions, loss, and sadness.
Maine Veterinary Medical Center has Pet Loss Counselors available for you.
Kathy is a certified Pet Loss Bereavement Counselor through the Association of Pet Loss and Bereavement (APLB) and a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LCPC-C) in the state of Maine. Kathy has additional certifications with the National Board of Certified Counselors and the Maine Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors, as well membership with Maine Animal Coalition.
She has been a passionate animal lover and pet caregiver for decades. Since 2009, she has completed extensive training in grief and loss, and has volunteered and worked with individuals and groups at local organizations, including the Center for Grieving Children and Hospice of Southern Maine. After finding that many did not know where to turn for help with pet loss, she founded Pet Loss Pathways, LLC, and is now offering pet loss support to grieving families and veterinary staff.
